Rebuilding the Decaying Brickwork Above a Masonry Window Opening

In this project, the 312Masonry team was tasked with repairing severely worn brickwork located above a window opening on a brick building in Chicago. Years of exposure to weather and natural aging had caused the masonry in this area to weaken, making restoration necessary to prevent further structural damage.

The repair process started with the careful removal of the deteriorated brick courses above the window. Once the damaged section was dismantled, the team inspected the supporting structure and prepared the area for reconstruction.

Using matching brick and high-quality mortar, the masonry was rebuilt to restore the strength of the wall and ensure proper support above the window opening. The brickwork was installed with precise alignment to maintain the original architectural appearance of the building.
