South Loop — front steps rebuilt in limestone.
312 Masonry rebuilt a failed brick front-step wall in Chicago's South Loop, replacing the original brick design with new decorative limestone for a more durable, upgraded finish.
Project description.
The existing brick masonry wall supporting the front steps had failed and come down. Rather than rebuild it exactly as it was, 312 Masonry worked with the owner to change the design to decorative limestone.
The new limestone steps and wall were built to the same footprint, giving the entry a durable, upgraded finish that's built to hold up to Chicago winters.
Scope of work.
- Removed the collapsed brick masonry wall at the front steps.
- Redesigned the entry in decorative limestone in place of the original brick.
- Built new limestone steps and retaining wall to the entry's footprint.
- Finished the steps for a durable, weather-resistant entry.
